Day 110 SCOOTER FOR SALE 2 previous owners, one careful, the other exasperated. Low mileage (and likely to stay that way) Good condition (just 2 scuff marks where it’s been kicked) Taxed & MOT’d (which doubles the value of the scooter) Sorry – breakdown insurance not included Buyer to collect Any reasonable (or unreasonable) offers considered. So - this morning was a bit hectic – took the scooter for a test run and it broke down on me again (see small ad above). Collected it after we’d got the van packed up (although got on the wrong side of a Croatian bus driver as I’d parked in the bus stop layby while loading the scooter on (which, of course, started again when we got back to it). According to their website there are no Yamaha dealers in Croatia, so I think the scooter will just have to stay in the van’s garage from now on unless any of you are tempted by the sale offer. Anyway - a cooler evening as I’m writing this – how wonderful to move an arm without breaking into a sweat! We’re at a campsite at Prapratno up the coast from Dubrovnik set in a small bay with (unusually for Croatia) a sandy beach. Site has a lot of eastern European families so I guess they’ve already started their school holidays. Got here early afternoon, found a shady spot and chilled out. We had a swim before tea, but had to leave Tirril in the van as he’s not allowed on the beach except last thing at night or early in the morning. Will take him down for a dip at dusk. The drive here today was really scenic – the road winding along the coast line with constant views of the blue sea and the mountainous islands. Has similarities with the west highlands of Scotland on a sunny day, except that it’s much warmer and it’s easier to understand the locals.
