MacDonnell Ranges We drive out to West Mac Donnell Ranges & Gorges today. They are spectacular. The first Gorge we stopped out was Standley Chasm. The walk into the chasm along the stony watercourse lined with cycads & ghost gums was pretty. Once you arrived at the end and into the chasm it was just magnificent The next stop Ellery Creek this one had water at the end of it but not the scenery as Standley. We then went out to Glen Helen to have a quick look as we had the car booked in for a service we had to get back. The west Mac Donnell ranges was the subject of many paintings by Albert Namatjira.
