Having secured the job we didn’t have much time left to see Sydney but we’d already seen most of the highlights. We topped these off with a trip to Bondi which we hadn’t been to yet and a trip around the Sydney Harbour National Park, near Manly. This is where immigrants used to be brought for quarantine in the olden days and it’s an odd place. I think they filmed The Biggest Loser here and there are lots of abandoned military buildings. We managed to get lost a few times and had to be escorted back by the park guides but you have a great view back towards the city on a good day from the southern side.

We were sad to see Sydney go, especially the beaches but excited at the prospect of exploring Melbourne's artsy areas.
