Dixon Springs Park and LAke Glendale Stables

Slept in - duh! Got the boys out the door about 10 a.m. and discovered a tiny “market” about 12 miles down the road. Got soda and ice for the cooler and discovered it is also a “part time restaurant” too. Hmmm. We’ll see if we run out of supplies in the fridge before we try Bosco Sticks from Harbington’s. We ventured on south and found our way to Dixon Springs Park where we enjoyed our picnic lunch and then onto Lake Glendale Stables for a full afternoon of lake fun including zip line, paddle boat and canoe and then a guided trail ride. The ride was 2 hours through the thick trees of Shawnee Forest. It was beautiful! We made our way to some rock cliffs and gave the horses a rest and climbed around a bit. Then back on thje horses for mopre trail riding. Peyton had been once before but likes it but Eli had never been and he also liked it. Siad afterwards he'd rather do that than hike. Ha. Eli rode Captain, Peyton rode Samson and I rode Jackie. Carol was an awesome guide and super friendly. After getting the horses back to the stable we stopped for ice cream at a chocolate shop then back to the cabin, of course via a route we hadn’t been on as you never know what you’ll find. At the cabin we enjoyed spaghetti. I have no idea what tomorrow is going to bring.
