Harry and Judy's RV Trip
26th Jul 2016 - Summer 2016
Day 62-July 26, 2016-Leaving Washington

Day 62-July 26, 2016-Leaving Washington

Drove 166 miles in 3 hours

Little bit cooler only 87 today.

I found out the golden grasses we’ve been seeing on the hillsides is Bluebunch Wheat Grass, the state grass.  Sometimes we see big black patches where a fire has been, probably from lightning strikes. But today we see more wheat than anything else.  We took I-395 north through The Palouse, a region near Ritzville, named the “Breadbasket of the World” because of the wheat grown here. Both sides of the road wheat, wheat, wheat, almost ready to harvest.  Harry says they recently paved the roads for us, we’ve had nice, smooth roads for a while. Then on to I-90 East through busy Spokane to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  We were in Washington for over two weeks and both decided we like every part of this state and would come back again.  It’s just so darn far.  Campground is really nice, this one really is like a resort, nice sized store, indoor heated pool, spa, big lodge with a big fireplace and lots of books, tables, and chairs.  Outside there’s tennis and volleyball courts, BBQ area, and good wifi.  Very secure too, everything needs a code to enter.  We got here early and we’re only staying here one night so we just plugged in the electric, had lunch, took the lawn chairs out and relaxed.  Haven’t done that in a while.  Had to go in because of the lightning but it never amounted to anything.
