Day 16

469nm to go.

Well we have lost ground again, all the time The Captain has been making water we had to alter our position, and yesterday we had to change course and head up to above Rodrigues as we were travelling too low..

This is a shocking and uncomfortable ride we were getting thrown everywhere, in the early hours of this morning after I just could not sleep we changed back again and the boat settled down, but we still have to make up more ground in the next few days.

It looks like The Captain may just have fixed the water maker problems, yesterday he switched hoses over and it looks like it's working fine so no worries about nursing it the whole time, he does have to clear the air a few times but nothing like before.

I was sitting here today when I heard a massive bang, just like a whip cracking, it was my alarm bottle on my hand line, I raced over expecting a fish but it had just snapped the line completely, it must of been one hell of a big fish, but the sad thing was I lost all my rigging, my whole daisy chain of 4 lures and hook and all, man I was not happy.

I really don't have many lures left so I just used two this time and The Captain helped and we have tied, red, white and green material strips to it, will it work? Who knows but at least if I lose this lot it won't matter too much.

I also tried out a new baked fish recipe, it was Mango and Coconut, very very nice oh and I baked some choc chip cookies, also very nice.

Well tomorrow is another day.
