Wednesday 17th June 2015

Well finally the wind has died down, oh man have we had strong winds, it's been horrible, I'm just so glad we were not out in the ocean in it, man it has blown for almost 24 hours, and don't even get me started with the rain and cold, I swear we have icicles hanging off us.

So what do we do in weather like this?  we go ashore, how stupid are we?
There was a reason for it, The Captain was meeting up with an old friend and his wife, they have not seen each other in around 40 years, and yeap they still recognised each other.
We had a lovely light meal at the yacht club here, where they caught up on all the missed years, Michael and Dualta, it was lovely meeting you both, even though us ladies did not get much of a word in, and they say women can talk...hahaha
But enough is enough, come on Captain, I think we have now officially caught up with everyone you have known since you were born, I have never meet so many new people in my life....hahaha,  just joking it really has been nice meeting all your old friends.

We also have run out of Internet, so if you think we have gone all quiet on facebook and emails, that's why.
They do have Internet at the club, but it very limited, so off we go into town and we can't get a top up here anywhere, there was a guy who happened to be in the shop at the time we were asking about it and he said that he has a cab and will drive us to the next town, at a price of cause.
So off we set get to Fish Hoek, get out, the taxi guy waits for us, we go to the shop and it's closed apparently another public holiday, so that was a total waste of time and money.

And today we have more problems, I noticed this morning, that some of the shrouds were loose, so we went on a hunt to find out why, and wish we hadn't the bob stay (that's the thing at the pointy end of the boat) has broken, in the big winds yesterday we were swinging on the mooring lines a lot and it has resulted in breaking it.
Another repair to add to the list.
We also lost a mat over board and one of our older mattress from the cockpit, when we got the new ones we decided to keep the old ones and they have been tied up on deck for months on end, it will be a nice place to sit if we ever get into warmer weather.
Anyway I happen to look up just on dark last night and watched it fall over board, we both did a mental dash outside it was caught in a rope in the water, I have no idea how we managed to get it back onboard but we did it now has two ropes holding it in place.

Right at this moment we are tied up to the visitors wharf at the marina, we came in a little while ago, was a little hairy, but we are safely tied up now.

I'm sitting here with what feels like a million seagulls flying around, these are not like our seagulls, this guys are on steroids serious they are huge, they have themselves all excited as there is a lot of fishing vessels coming in.
And we are about to go ashore and try and organise the many repairs that need doing.

Well tomorrow is another day.
