Hi! Everyone,

‘My name is Asma,aged 15 years and now in form 2 in a secondary school called Ng’ombeni Girls High School which is located within our Kilifi County. The school was originally built by the local Anglican Church of Kenya where they’ve built a church near the school. The school has a student population of ………………kids.

In my class we are 41 students. The total number of subjects we do are  11 subject namely Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Chemistry.Biology, History and government, Physics, Geography, Christian Religion Education (CRE), Business Education and Agriculture.

Our school is a girls’ boarding school which makes us accommodated into the school hostels /dormitories each dormitory is subdivided into cubes and each cubes accommodates 10 girls. The cubes are also named for each identification and our cube name is called Mount Kenya which represents our famous and top most mountain called Mount Kenya.

Our official day starts at 7.00 am, however we normal wake up at 4.00 am where we start preparing ourselves for at least 30 minutes thereafter proceed for the early morning classes. The early morning classes which commence at 4.30 am are normal remedial classes whereby we do lots of revision work until 6.00 am. From 6.00-6.30 am we go for our morning breakfast where we have tea with bread. From 6.30 am until 7.00 am we do praise and worship whereby we assemble all together and sing lots of Christian songs and prayers. Before we start the official class sessions, please see our class time table in the picture gallery for all of our class sessions.

Our official day ends at 4.00 pm where we go back to our dormitories so as to change our school uniform to normal clothing, this is normal a break of about 20 minutes. Thereafter we go back to our classes more remedial classes until 5.00 pm.

From 5.00 pm-6.00 pm we normal have games and clubs depending on the day like;-

Monday……………………….games and sport, where  we plays different game like netball, Volleyball, women football.

Tuesday………………………Debating, where different kinds of debates are proposed and moved e,g ‘Boarding schools are better than day schools’

Wednesday………………Drama, and am happy to inform you that I have now joined the school drama club   where we sometimes go out to compete with other schools during the schools drama festivals

Thursday………………….Religious services, whereby Christians do go for their Christian service classes and do lots of bible reading and teachings while for the Muslims whom I belong do proceed for the special Muslim classes.

Friday………………Games and sports.

Saturday………….morning classes until 12,00 noon then later in the afternoon after lunch we do washing of our clothes etc.

Sunday…………..church service in the morning then later in the afternoon we are free.

For our daily school meals, here below is the menu;-

5. Friday…………………….’Githeri’…………………………………………………’rice with green peans.

6. Saturday……………………’pilau’……………………………………………’ugali with cabbage.

7. Sunday………………………..’Githeri’………………………………………..’ugali’ with cabbage.

Generally I really enjoy my classes and I love all of my classmates and teachers.
